CALL FOR PAPERS 2nd Workshop on 3D Physiological Human 2009 November 29 - December 01, 2009 Alex Hotel, Zermatt, Switzerland http://3dph.miralab.unige.ch/ Aims and Scope: Today, a huge amount of medical data is produced but the main question remains how medical doctors/students can take full benefit out of them. In the same time, recent advances in computing devices and network place users in the center of a rich and interactive world where 3D medical contents can be accessed and visualized anywhere and anytime. New opportunities for the sharing, interaction and fusion of anatomical/physiological models are given not only to the medical professionals but also to the public. This international workshop will provide rigorous knowledge exchanges in both the theoretical and applied aspects of the convergence of user-centric media and 3D physiological human research areas which include three major research domains: * Creation and visualization of 3D models for the human body * Ubiquitous access to 3D medical model * Usability and interaction issues of 3D medical models The emphasis of this workshop will be on current and future research that brings together the topics mentioned above.=20 Topics: Suggested topics for papers include, but are not limited to: * Segmentation and image processing * Biomedical motion analysis and modeling * 3D anatomical and physiological modeling * Graphics hardware for medical computing * Interactive medical visualization * Data fusion, content-based 3D retrieval and classification * Computational anatomical atlases * Dynamic distributed networks for nomadic access to 3D medical contents * Adaptive visualization of 3D medical contents on heterogeneous devices * Real-time and interactive networked 3D medical contents * Applications and systems for 3D medical contents visualization and simulation * User evaluations on 3D medical contents and applications Conference Location: Alex Hotel, Zermatt, Switzerland Important Dates: Paper submission: July 31, 2009 (23:59 GMT+1) Authors' notification: August 21, 2009 Camera-ready papers: September 10, 2009 Conference: November 29 - December 01, 2009 Workshop Chairs: Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann (MIRALab/University of Geneva, Switzerland) Seunghyun Han (MIRALab/University of Geneva, Switzerland) Dimitris Protopsaltou (MIRALab/University of Geneva, Switzerland) Program Co-chairs: Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann (MIRALab/University of Geneva, Switzerland) Nuria Oliver (Telef=F3nica R&D, Barcelona, Spain) Eric Stindel (University Hospital of Brest, France) Local Committee Chairs: Caecilia Charbonnier (MIRALab/University of Geneva, Switzerland) J=E9r=F4me Schmid (MIRALab/University of Geneva, Switzerland) International Program Committee (not confirmed): Pierre Alliez (INRIA, France) Nicholas Ayache (INRIA, France) Massimiliano Baleani (IOR, Italy) Raffaele Bolla (DIST/University of Genova, Italy) Davide Caramella (University of Pisa, Italy) Werner Ceusters (State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics & Life Sciences, USA) Jiang Chang (Bournemouth University, UK) Gary E.
