CALL FOR PAPERS - EXTENDED DEADLINE: JUNE 20, 2009 ========================================= International Workshop on "Intelligent Image Processing and Artificial Vision (IIPAV)" http://www.softcomputing.es/IIPAV-ISDA2009 held in conjunction with Int. Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications (ISDA 2009) November 30 - December 2, 2009 Pisa (ITALY) ========================================= For many real-world vision and imaging problems, the available information is imprecise, uncertain, and/or incomplete, making it difficult to solve these problems. Intelligent systems have demonstrated that they are capable to exploit the tolerance for imprecision, uncertainty, partial truth, and approximation to achieve tractability, robustness, lower cost and better fit with reality. Consequently, the application of intelligent methodologies in image processing and artificial vision has increased over the last few years with many interesting approaches having been introduced. This special session aims to integrate state of the art approaches applying intelligent systems to tackle image processing and artificial vision problems. TOPICS Authors are invited to submit papers presenting original research of intelligent techniques and applications in the field of image processing and artificial vision. Topics include, but are not limited to, intelligent techniques such as: • Fuzzy logic • Neural networks • Evolutionary computation • Probabilistic reasoning • Swarm intelligence • Machine learning • Bio-inspired computing • Rough sets and near sets in: • Image filtering • Video processing/tracking • Image restoration • Computer vision • Image segmentation • Feature extraction • Image registration • Image classification • Image coding/transmission • Pattern recognition • Biometrics • Document analysis • 3D processing • Medical imaging IMPORTANT DATES Deadline for paper submission June 20, 2009 (Extended) Notification of acceptance July 25, 2009 Camera-ready manuscript submission September 15, 2009 PAPER SUBMISSION Papers are invited from prospective authors with interest in the related areas. Each paper should follow the IEEE paper format with 4~6 single-spaced pages. All papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format only.
