[KI2009] Workshop on Human-Machine Interfaces - Deadline extended Deadline extension ================== Call for papers - Workshop on Human-Machine-Interaction at KI 2009 Human-machine-interaction studies complex communication and interaction principles between people and computers. HMI research is concerned with a wide field of related topics covering the realization, evaluation of interactive machine and computing systems. It furthermore covers knowledge representation, displaying techniques, signal processing, pattern recognition, human factors, haptics and robotics, just to name a few. The workshop: "Human-Machine-Interaction - State-of-the-art and Future Steps" will be held on 15.9.2009 in conjunction with the KI 2009 - "AI and Automation", Paderborn, see http://ki2009.uni-paderborn.de/ Contributions for the workshop may cover: * Ergonomic interfaces * Human Factors * Usability and Quality * Adaptive and personalized interfaces * Architectures for interaction * Computer-augmented environments * HMI for Robots * Social Signal Processing * Emotions * Cognitive Systems * Evaluation methods and techniques * Gesture and eye-gaze based interaction * Graphical user interface * Non-verbal interfaces * Speech and natural language interfaces * Interface development environments Contributions are expected in the following form: * Presentations should have a duration of 15-20 minutes. They are documented by a short original research paper which should cover 4-8 pages in total * Demonstrations are documented by an extended abstract which should not exceed 1 page in total * Workshop submission is electronic per mail to Wallhoff@tum.de Submitted papers and abstracts should conform Springer LNCS style and must be written in English. Papers will be published on the workshop website and CDROM.
