--------------- CALL FOR PAPERS ---------------------- Search in 3D and Video (S3DV) 2009 Workshop http://crome.cs.ualberta.ca/S3DV2009/ ------------------------------------------------------ In conjunction with ICCV Kyoto, JAPAN, September 27, 2009 http://www.iccv2009.org Scope ===== Papers in the workshop program must describe high-quality, original research. Topics of interest include all aspects of, and areas related to, the following: 1. 3D shape features for matching; 3D similarity measures; robust features for Video search; 2. 3D segmentation; 3D object detection; 3. 3D scene recognition; 3D human activity recognition and monitoring; 4. Search based on range data; Search in multi-view (implicit 3D) video; 5. Searching 3D panoramic image databases, potentially for mobile navigation and localization; 6. Efficient search and matching in 3D image databases, including search based on partial view of objects; 7. Search driven by 3D information extracted from video, such as 3D motion segmentation, optic flow, and other vision characteristics; 8. Measuring perceptual relevance of retrieval; 9. Machine learning in 3D and Video search; 10. Analysis of search parameters, for example using historical knowledge of prior search, e.g. using VisTrails in search; 11. Applications: Online browsing for heritage, tourism and e-commerce, autonomous navigation, security and surveillance, mobile navigation, and others. Submission Procedure ==================== All submissions will be handled electronically. Submission instructions are posted on the conference website (http://www.iccv2009.org). Reviewing will be double-blind. In submitting a manuscript to S3DV, authors acknowledge that no paper substantially similar in content has been or will be submitted to another conference or workshop during the review period (June 17 – July 7, 2009).
