IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing
Special Issue - Affect Based Human Behavior Understanding

DESCRIPTION:

Emotion is an important aspect of human behavior that is relevant for
interpreting complex behavioral patterns between interacting humans and
for improving human-computer interaction. Analysis of affect for a
better understanding of human behavior is a challenging problem where
many issues are still open.

We solicit contributions to a special section on IEEE Transactions on
Affective Computing that focuses on the problems of modeling and
analyzing human affective behavior. The topics include, but are not
restricted to:

-Facial expression analysis
-Multimodal affective behavior analysis
-Affective social signals
-Display of affect for personality judgments
-Analysis of emotion in speech
-Analysis of non-verbal affective behaviors
-Automatic assessment of emotional responses
-Natural/spontaneous vs. acted affective responses
-Temporal dynamics of emotion
-Novel sensory modalities for analysis of affect
-Long-term analysis of affective responses

SUBMISSIONS:

Submissions must represent original material. Papers are accepted
for review with the understanding that the same work has been neither
submitted to, nor published in, another journal or conference. The
special issue follows the International Workshop on Human Behavior
Understanding (HBU@ICPR) held in association with ICPR 2010. Workshop
papers must be significantly enhanced and revised to be considered in
the special issue, which is also open to work not presented in the
workshop. All manuscripts will undergo a rigorous review process by
at least three experts.

IMPORTANT DATES:
October 1, 2010: Submission of full paper
November 7, 2010: First round of reviews
December 7, 2010: Submission of revised papers
December 30, 2010: Second round of reviews
January 15, 2011: Notification of acceptance
The tentative publication date is mid-February 2011.
