CALL FOR PAPERS AUTOMATIC IMAGE ANNOTATION AND RETRIEVAL WORKSHOP 2010 ----- AIAR 2010 ------ October 6 - 8, Puebla, Mexico Submission deadline: August 15, 2010 (extended abstract) GENERAL INFORMATION AIAR 2010 is organized by the TIA research group at INAOE Mexico. AIAR 2010 focuses on image annotation and on the combination of both textual and visual information into the multimedia image retrieval task. We invite researchers and students to submit extended abstracts of their work. TOPICS OF INTEREST You are invited to submit a paper in one of the following topics: * Automatic image segmentation * Automatic image annotation * Annotation-based image retrieval * Visual concept detection and object retrieval * Image retrieval combining textual and visual information * Methods that use spatial context and/or semantic information for image annotation * Relevance feedback in multimedia image retrieval * Object detection and recognition * Ground-truth data for image annotation and retrieval PRESENTATION & PUBLICATION Accepted works will be presented in the workshop and full versions of accepted abstracts will be published on-line in CEUR Workshop Proceedings (see ). Additionally, extended versions of a selection the best papers will be invited for a special issue of a Journal to be announced. PAPER FORMAT & SUBMISSION Extended abstracts must be prepared according to the EasyChair class style, available from The length of the extended abstract must be of at least one and at most two pages. The full versions of accepted papers can have a maximum length of 10 pages. Invited papers for the Journal's special issue will be free length.
