IEEE AVSS 2010 Workshops -- Call for Proposals Proposals are invited for high-quality workshops on a variety of timely video- and signal-based surveillance topics. Workshops will be held on 29 August 2010 in Boston in conjunction with AVSS 2010. The goal of the workshops is to provide an informal half-day forum for researchers to discuss important research issues and challenges. Workshops are expected to feature around 6 oral presentations. In exceptional cases, full-day workshops will be considered. Workshops will be held at the main conference site, the Photonics Center at Boston University. Admission to the workshops will be included in the AVSS 2010 registration. While seminar rooms and basic audiovisual facilities will be provided by the conference, workshop organisers are responsible for coordinating the content of workshops, moderating discussions, and ensuring attendance by the contributors listed in the workshop proposal. The workshop proposal should contain the following information: 1. Title of the workshop 2. Scope of the workshop (description of the motivation and the objectives of the workshop: why is the topic of interest? why should there be a discussion?) 3. Workshop format (lecture only or lecture/posters/demos combination) 4. Names of confirmed speakers 5. Names of potential invitees 6. Expected number of submissions 7. Draft call for papers of the workshop 8. Contact details of the organisers Proposals should be emailed as PDF or plain text to the AVSS 2010 Workshops Chair, Andrea Cavallaro (andrea.cavallaro _AT_ before 19 March 2010.
