***************************************************************************** Extended paper submission deadline: June 28, 2010 (firm deadline) ***************************************************************************** CALL FOR PAPERS 2010 International Workshop on GPUs and Scientific Applications (GPUScA 2010) Vienna, Austria, September 11, 2010, in conjunction with PACT 2010 Submission: June 28, 2010 (firm deadline) http://informatik.technikum-wien.at/gpusca/ ***************************************************************************** ------- Context ------- GPUs are cost-effective platforms for computational intensive applications providing tremendous peak performance. However, it is a major challenge to deliver the intrinsic performance of such architectures to end applications. The goal of this workshop is to bring together GPU experts with computational science experts. The workshop addresses programming approaches (stream programming) and key techniques to leverage the computing power of GPUs. Experiences gained while adapting scientific codes to run efficiently on such architectures are welcome. We solicit unpublished papers about research challenges and advances addressing porting of scientific codes and algorithms to GPU platforms. ------------------ Topics of Interest ------------------ The topics of the workshop include but are not limited to: * Scientific applications optimized for GPUs * Programming approaches for multicore CPUs and GPUs * Stream computing * Programming environments for GPUs * Benchmarking/measurements for GPUs * GPU architectures * CUDA and OpenCL ---------------------- Submission Information ---------------------- The papers should be prepared using the ACM SIG Proceedings format, and should be no longer than 8 pages. Submitted papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance to workshop topics, technical soundness, and presentation quality. Submit your paper(s) via the submission site. At least one of the authors must register and attend the workshop to present the work in order that the accepted paper will be put into the proceedings. Accepted papers will be included in preliminary workshop proceedings and distributed at the workshop. Extended versions of the best papers will be published in * International Journal of High Performance Computing and Networks (IJHPCN) and * International Journal of High Performance Computing Applications (IJHPCA) depending on the topic of the respective paper. --------------- Important Dates --------------- * Submission: June 28, 2010 (firm deadline) * Notification: July 28, 2010 * Final version of the paper: August 20, 2010 --------------- Workshop Chairs --------------- * Eduard Mehofer (University of Vienna, Austria) * Markus Schordan (University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, Austria) * Dan Quinlan (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, U.S.A.) * Beniamino Di Martino (Second University of Naples, Italy) ----------------- Program Committee ----------------- * Alok Choudhary (Northwestern University, USA) * Thomas Fahringer (University of Innsbruck, AUT) * Michael Gerndt (Technical University Munich, GER) * Beniamino Di Martino (Second University of Naples, ITA) * Eduard Mehofer (University of Vienna, AUT) * Michael O'Boyle (University of Edinburgh, GBR) * Bernhard Scholz (University of Sydney, AUS) * Markus Schordan (University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, AUT) * Xipen Shen (College of William and Mary, USA) * Apan Qasem (Texas State University, USA) * Dan Quinlan (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, USA) * Qing Yi (University of Texas at San Antonio, USA) *****************************************************************************
