ACM Multimedia 2011 Call for Student Scholarship Applications http://www.acmmm11.org/content-call-student-scholarship-applications.html The ACM Multimedia conference is the main annual conference of ACM SIGMM. It provides a great opportunity for researchers to present their work, get acquainted with the work of others, and discuss with colleagues both junior and senior. To promote this form of cooperation, the SIG and its sponsor, the US National Science Foundation (NSF), make conference participation grants available for several students. A scholarship is meant to support personal attendance of one student at the main conference. Students selected for the award will be reimbursed for the advance registration fee (including main conference, workshop and/or tutorials) and travel expenses up to 400 USD. Individual scholarships may cover additional expenses subject to conditions of individual sponsors. Students will have to make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation. Eligibility Sponsored by the US NSF, students are encouraged to apply. - Students being the primary authors of an accepted paper in the main conference or workshops will be given preference in the selection process. - Students selected to attend the Doctoral Symposium, Women Mentoring Workshop, and Open Source Software Competition will be given high priority. - Students without papers accepted for publication at ACMMM 2011, but involved in research closely related to the topics of ACMMM will be considered. As additional criteria, we will also work on the institutional diversity of the awardees to broaden the participation among institutions. We will also aim to encourage diversity and participation by female and minority students. Application Procedure To apply for a grant, the students must submit the necessary materials through the website (https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/mmc2011/) under the track "Student Travel Grant," no later than August 15 (11:59pm PST),2011.
