CVCG2011 Second IEEE International Workshop on Computer Vision for Computer Games Saturday June 25th 2011, Colorado Springs Dear Colleage CVCG2011 This year the Second IEEE International Workshop on Computer Vision for Computer Games (CVCG2011) will be held in conjunction with CVPR2011 in Colorado Springs on Saturday June 25th 2011. Call for Papers Research into visual game-interaction technologies is becoming one of the core problem areas of the computer vision research community. The field enjoys well-funded national and international funding programmes, especially in collaboration with industrial partners boasting a plethora of companies. This work offers a novel human-computer interaction experience. Yet, despite the apparent interest, the core problems remain as complex and varied as any in computer vision. The deployment of truly intelligent and robust human-computer interaction systems face a number of specific challenges including the segmentation and tracking of individuals in bad illuminated scenes; extracting body pose; characterization of actions; reduction in false alarm rates; real time 3D scene reconstruction and motion analysis; and the semantic linkage and fusion between different sensors. To address these challenges, contributions are particularly welcome in the following areas: * Real time (low complexity) object, sketch and face recognition and tracking * Action and activity analysis and recognition * Real time motion estimation * Face, hand, and human body pose estimation * Non-traditional sensor technology (e.g. depth cameras) * Scalability - computational efficiency (cuda computing, shaders etc) * 3D scene reconstruction * Visual metrics * Multi-Camera and multi-sensor Fusion * Camera-phone based gaming Important Dates Submission of full papers Friday March 11th 2011 Notification to authors Monday March 28th 2011 Submission of Camera Ready Monday April 4th 2011
