Let me kindly inform you that IJCCI 2011, to be held in Paris, France (24 - 26 October, 2011) is now welcoming the submission of position papers whose deadline is scheduled to next June 27. A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and/or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (bibliographic, experimental, theoretical, or other) focused on one of the conference topics. The acceptance of a position paper is restricted to the categories of "short paper" or "poster", i.e. a position paper is not a candidate to acceptance as "full paper". JYUB The three main topic areas of IJCCI have been defined as sub-conferences in the following way: - Evolutionary Computation Theory and Applications - ECTA (http://www.ecta.ijcci.org/) - Fuzzy Computation Theory and Applications - FCTA (http://www.fcta.ijcci.org/) - Neural Computation Theory and Applications- NCTA (http://www.ncta.ijcci.org/) Hosted by the University PARIS-EST Créteil (UPEC), IJCCI will be sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) in cooperation with the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and Lissi Laboratory, France. INSTICC is member of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC). IJCCI is interested in promoting high quality research as it can be confirmed by last year's acceptance rates, where from 236 submissions, 13% were accepted as full papers. Additionally, 23% were presented as short papers and 13% as posters. Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and CD-ROM support. The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by major international indexers, including Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP and Elsevier Index (EI). Additionally, a short list of presented papers will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in a SCI Series book. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/). SciTePress is member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/). Best paper awards will be distributed during the conference closing session and announced on the website. Workshops and special sessions are also invited. If you wish to propose a workshop or a special session, for example based on the results of a specific research project, please contact the secretariat. Workshop chairs and Special Session chairs will benefit from logistics support and other types of support, including secretariat and financial support, to facilitate the development of a valid idea. Should you have any question or suggestions please don't hesitate to contact me. Kind regards, Vera Coelho IJCCI Secretariat Av. D.
