7th International Seminar on Medical Information Processing and Analysis

The 7h International Seminar on Medical Information Processing and
Analysis (formerly International Seminar on Medical Image Processing
and Analysis) will be held December 5-7, 2011, in the city of
Bucaramanga (Colombia). As in previous editions, this seminar is the
appropriate space to bring together researchers (both students and
professionals - mainly related dicine) to communicate their results,
developments and research experience and to promote the creation of
technical and scientific collaboration networks.

Previous editions or this event were focused on the field of Medical
Images and associated technologies and applications. For this year, as
a response to the increasing relevance of multi-modal sources we have
extended the Seminar scope to research areas involving Biomedical
Signals, Healthcare Informatics and Telemedicine, in addition to the
original topic related to Medical Image processing, Analysis and
Interpretation.

This event is addressed to researchers, teachers, students and
professionals in a wide range of disciplines including Engineeri
Computer Science, Biology and Health Sciences. The seminar will
include expert lectures of issues related to acquisition,
digitization, visualization, processing, analysis and Interpretation
of Medical Information (biomedical signals, clinical data, diagnostic
images, etc.). Contributions accepted by the seminar's Evaluation
Committee will be presented in oral or poster sessions. In addition,
several tutorials related to the topic of the seminar will be offered
to the attendants.

Authors are invited to submit original unpublished manuscripts with a
maximum of 8 pages (following the format specified here), containing
original contributions on methodological, algorithmic, mathematical,
computational and applied issues related to Medical Information. The
papers accepted for presentation will be published in the proceedings
of this event (with ISBN). Extended versions of the best papers will
apply to be published as indexed journal articles (Revista Dyna).
