A special session on “3D video content analysis and description” will be organized in 3DTV-conference 2012, Zurich, October 15-17, 2012 (https://sites.google.com/a/disneyresearch.com/3dtv-con2012/home ) that will be co-located and partially overlapping with 3DIMPVT 2012 (http://www.3dimpvt.org/ ), October 13-15, 2012. The session topics include (indicative list): Semantic analysis and scene understanding in 3D and multiview video content event detection segmentation indoor/outdoor scene classification shot type (field size) classification face/human detection and tracking human activity recognition face recognition facial expression recognition object detection/tracking/recognition · 3D video shot boundary detection and transition characterization · 3D video summarization · 3D video quality metrics · Disparity estimation and 3D reconstruction for 3D video content analysis Analysis of 3D video depth characteristics 3D video content description schemes for search, indexing and retrieval Submitted papers shall be up to four-pages long. Submission details will be announced on the conference website. The submission deadline is July 1st, 2012. All special session papers will undergo regular review.
