SYROCO Special Session on Computer Vision Systems for Robots and Vehicles

CV for Robots and Vehicles - Dubrovnik, Croatia We would like to draw your attention to the SYROCO Special Session on Computer Vision Systems for Robots and Vehicles, to be held at Dubrovnik, Croatia on 5-7 September 2012. Conference website: http://www.syroco2012.org/ AIMS AND SCOPE Vision is an extremely important sense for robots and vehicles, providing detailed information about the environment. A visual cognitive system should be able to detect objects reliably and provide an accurate representation of the world to higher-level processes. The vision system must also be highly efficient, allowing a robot or a vehicle to respond quickly to a changing environment. Algorithmic complexity is therefore constrained, introducing a trade-off between processing time and the quality of the information acquired. The aim of the invited session is to present latest research efforts in the area of visual cognitive systems for robots and vehicles. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Recognition and categorization of objects, scenes, and actions; * Grasping, manipulation, and navigation; * Advanced driver assistance systems; * Embedded computer vision systems for autonomous robots and vehicles. PAPER SUBMISSION All paper submissions should be carried out through the official conference manuscript management system (choose SYROCO 2012): http://ifac.papercept.net/ The deadline for online paper submission for this special session is on 15 March 2012. http://www.syroco2012.org/schedule.html ORGANIZERS Sven Loncaric, Zoran Kalafatic, Sinisa Segvic Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia mailto:sven.loncaric@fer.hr
