========= CALL FOR PARTICIPATION ========= * Update: Existing published methods will also be accepted. * ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Colleagues, We would like to invite you to participate to Challenge US: Biometric Measurements from Fetal Ultrasound Images, which is a segmentation challenge to be held on the 2nd May 2012 in Barcelona, in conjunction and with the support of the International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (http://www.biomedicalimaging.org/) (ISBI) 2012. The challenge consists of automatically segmenting anatomical structures to measure standard obstetric biometric parameters, from 2D fetal ultrasound images taken on fetuses at different gestational ages (18-22 weeks, 28 weeks, and 32+ weeks). The challenge is open to teams from academia and industry. Existing published methods will also be accepted. Each team will need to register to have access to the data, which will be available only within this challenge. The results from each team will be automatically compared to the ground truth, obtained from expert manual segmentations and measurements. These will be ranked and published in the website without disclosing the members of each team, which will be disclosed during the workshop. From all the methods submitted, some teams will be invited to present their work at the workshop on the 2nd May 2012 in the form of an oral or poster presentation. The final results from this challenge will be summarised to a journal paper and submitted to a high impact journal, presenting and comparing all automatic segmentation methods existing to achieve fetal biometric measurements. The journal paper will be written by the organisers of the challenge and co-authored by all teams contributing to the workshop. More information on the challenge can be found on the following website: http://www.ibme.ox.ac.uk/challengeus2012 ========= Chairs ========= Dr. Sylvia Rueda, Prof. J.
