3rd Workshop on Consumer Depth Cameras for Computer Vision (CDC4CV) Call for Papers

3rd Workshop on Consumer Depth Cameras for Computer Vision (CDC4CV) Dec. 2nd (all day), in conjunction with ICCV'13 Sydney, Australia. http://www.vision.ee.ethz.ch/CDC4CV/CDC4CV-2013.pdf http://www.vision.ee.ethz.ch/CDC4CV/ *Important Dates* - Full paper submission: Sept. 7th 2013 - Notifications issued: Oct. 7th 2013 - Camera-ready papers: Oct. 13th 2013 - Workshop, all day: Dec. 2nd 2013 Depth cameras, including time-of-flight and structured-light systems, have continued to transform many aspects of computer vision and graphics. The aim of this workshop is to present recent research into depth cameras and their applications. CDC4CV'13 will also be an opportunity to take stock of the past five years of work in this field, by evaluating different algorithms and sensors. This workshop will help the community to understand the benefits and limitations of depth cameras, and to be prepared for the next generation of these devices. *Call for contributions* Original, high-quality paper submissions are invited, on topics including, but not limited to: - Object recognition and detection - Cross-calibration of depth and colour camera-systems - Registration of depth and photometric information - Depth-colour sensor-fusion - Scene-segmentation, understanding, and grouping - Human-computer and human-robot interaction - Face and gesture analysis - Augmented reality and 3D content-generation - Surveillance and monitoring - Robotics, navigation and SLAM - Sensor characterization and performance - Industrial inspection and other applications Prospective authors are invited to submit a ten-page paper, in ICCV format, via the workshop web-page. All papers will be reviewed (double blind) by an international program committee. Accepted papers will be presented in single-track oral sessions, as well as a poster session. Accepted papers will be published on the DVD included in the main conference proceedings. Live demos are encouraged. *Keynote speakers* - Shahram Izadi - TBC, (Microsoft Research, Cambridge UK) - Derek Hoiem (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign USA) *Organizers* - Andrea Fossati (ETH Zurich, CH) - Juergen Gall (U Bonn, DE) - Helmut Grabner (ETH Zurich, CH) - Miles Hansard (QMUL, UK) *Contact* cdc4cv@vision.ee.ethz.ch
