Its broad scope includes: advances in fundamental computer vision, pattern recognition, computer graphics; machine learning techniques relevant to face, gesture and body motion; new algorithms and applications. The program will consist of single-track oral presentations and poster sessions. Submissions will be rigorously reviewed and should clearly make the case for a documented improvement over the existing state of the art. FG 2013 will be held in Shanghai, which is the economic and financial centre of China. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: - Face recognition, analysis and synthesis - Gesture recognition, analysis and synthesis - Body motion analysis and synthesis, and action recognition - Psychological and behavioral analysis - Technologies and applications SUBMISSION Paper submissions may be up to 8 pages in conference format. Papers longer than 6 pages will be subject to a page fee for the extra pages(two max). Submissions to FG 2013 should have no substantial overlap with any other paper already submitted or published, or to be submitted during the FG 2013 review period. Papers presented at FG 2013 will appear in the IEEE Xplore digital library. The best FG 2013 papers will be selected for a special issue of Image and Vision Computing. Submission details are available on the conference website. Workshops and tutorials will be held on April 22 and April 26.Submission details for workshop and tutorial proposals are available on the conference website. Special Sessions will emphasize "Frontiers in FG". Submission details for special sessions are available on the conference website. Demo sessions will give the opportunity to present, in an interactive setting, new methods and technologies. An exhibition session will feature exhibits from industry to inform the FG community about commercialization of research results, stimulate discussion about the state of the art, share findings between related communities, and generate ideas for new research. VENUE The conference will be held at the Majesty Plaza Hotel, which is ideally located in the center of the city, and is easily accessed by subway, bus, and taxi. The hotel is adjacent to the famous Nanjing Road pedestrian street, where people can walk to major attractions and shopping.
