Special Session on "Intelligent Analysis and Description of 3DTV Content" 11th IEEE IVMSP Workshop: 3D Image/Video Technologies and Applications June 10-12, 2013 Seoul, Korea 3DTV data are already starting to accumulate. These data consist of stereoscopic video or video+depth along with multichannel audio. Multiview video is also used in certain cases, especially in 3DTV content production and post-production. A number of issues that are specific to these data arise, such as 3D video content acquisition, 3D reconstruction and modeling, 3D video representation and summarization, 3D content analysis and description, 3D content indexing and retrieval, 3D content databases, multichannel audio acquisition, processing analysis and compression. All these are hot research topics that pose significant challenges. This special session aims at collecting papers presenting state-of- the art approaches, in the area of intelligent analysis and description of 3DTV content. Brave new ideas, ambitious and pioneering work are particularly welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Semantic analysis and scene understanding in 3D and multiview video content (event detection, segmentation, indoor/outdoor scene classification, shot type classification, face/human detection and tracking, human activity recognition, face recognition, facial expression recognition, object detection/recognition) * 3D (stereo and multiview) video acquisition * 3D video shot boundary detection and transition characterization * Disparity estimation and 3D reconstruction for 3D video content analysis * Analysis of 3D video depth characteristics * 3D scene reconstruction and modelling * 3D video representation and compression * 3D video rendering and display * 3D video summarization and browsing * 3D video content description schemes for search, indexing and retrieval * Multichannel audio acquisition, processing and compression * Multichannel audio analysis * 3D video and multichannel audio perception and quality of experience * Multi modal analysis of 3DTV scenes * Sensor fusion and calibration * Intelligent analysis for 3D content coding and transmission * Compositing of natural and synthetic content Interested authors can find submission information at: http://www.ivmsp2013.org/authors/ Submission of manuscripts to this special session will be done through the workshop submission system. During submission, the authors should select only the topic "[SS] Intelligent and description of 3DTV Content". All received papers will be peer-reviewed following the usual reviewing standards.
