MEDICAL IMAGE UNDERSTANDING AND ANALYSIS


The Steering Committee of the MEDICAL IMAGE UNDERSTANDING AND ANALYSIS
(MIUA) Conference in association with the British Machine Vision
Association (BMVA) is calling for Expressions Of Interest (EOI) for
organizing and hosting future editions of MIUA.


MIUA is a single-track, annual and friendly conference with oral and
poster presentations and, after 17 years, it has become the principal
UK forum for communicating research progress in image analysis applied
to the medical and biomedical sciences. MIUA prides itself on
attracting papers on a wide range of topics from a variety of
viewpoints, offering many opportunities for discussion and
inspiration. All accepted contributions are published and the full
proceedings are made available online.  Prizes are awarded for the
best contributions, and selected papers are invited for publication in
the online journal, Annals of the BMVA. Contributions from across the
spectrum of medical and biomedical image analysis - from technical
advances to novel practical applications - are welcome. Contributions
from both inside and outside the UK are encouraged.


The conference is generally held in the month of July, runs over 2-3
days at an Academic Institution and attracts around 50-100
participants. To ensure financial stability, the BMVA underwrites the
conference and supports conference bursaries. The Steering Committee
of MIUA provides advice and support to conference organisers who are
also invited to join the committee to pass on their own experience.


Please consider hosting a future edition of MIUA and submit an
Expression of Interest. The EOI should be no more than a page,
including the proposed dates and some idea of the proposed venues, for
lectures, posters, conference dinner and accommodation. Upon receipt
of suitable EOIs, the Steering Committee will invite more detailed
submissions including proposed budgets, and further venue and other
organizational detail.

MIUA 2013 in Birmingham in July may also have informal discussions
about hosting MIUA with the Steering Committee.
