Special Session Proposal Process

The MMM 2013 Organizing Committee especially encouraged proposals on
interdisciplinary topics and themes and those in new emerging areas of
interest to the broad multimedia community. Sessions that focus on
social media network and large scale multimedia data processing were
particularly encouraged. Special sessions can also be an opportunity
to bring researchers in relevant fields.

1. Proposal Submission

    Title of the proposed session
    An overview of the envisioned special session stating the
    importance of the topic and the objectives of the proposed
    session, the format, and any needed details/requirements that are
    needed to make the session successful.

    Names/affiliation of organizers (including brief bio and contact
    information)

    A tentative/confirmed list of papers (titles/affiliations/authors)
    to be submitted to the proposed session.

2. Submission Procedure

People who wish to organize a special session should submit a proposal
to the Special Session Chair (hongrc.hfut@gmail.com,
csxu@nlpr.ia.ac.cn ) before June 1, 2012. Organizers of accepted
proposals will be notified within two weeks of submitting
proposals. Authors of Special Session submissions will be notified of
acceptance at the same time as regular paper authors (Sept. 17 2012).

Important Dates:

Paper Submission: July 18, 2012

Notification of Acceptance: September 17, 2012

Camera-ready Paper Due: October 10, 2012

Author registration:  October 11, 2012
