1st Call for Contributions: 6th Pacific-Rim Symposium on Image and Video Technology (PSIVT 2013) October 30th-November 1st, 2013, Guanajuato, Mexico http://www.psivt.org/psivt2013 Pacific-Rim Symposium on Image and Video Technology (PSIVT) is a biennial international symposium for image and video technology. The 6th PSIVT will be held in Guanajuato, Mexico, as a forum for researchers, developers, artists, educators, performers, and practitioners in the Pacific Rim and around the world to present the latest developments in both theoretical and practical aspects of image and video technology, artistic and consumer innovations. Previous issues of PSIVT have been held in Taiwan, Chile, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea. IMPORTANT DATES: Workshop proposal deadline: May 1st, 2013 Submission site opens: May 3rd, 2013 Paper submission deadline: June 15th, 2013 Exhibit/Tutorial/Demo proposal submission deadline: July 26th, 2013 Paper notification of acceptance: August 14th, 2013 Camera ready copy due: Sep 25th, 2013 Workshops and tutorials: October 28th and 29th, 2013 Main Conference and demos: October 30th, 31st and November 1st, 2013 PAPER SUBMISSION * PSIVT 2013 proceedings of the main conference and of the workshop published by Springer-Verlag in the LNCS collection. * Double-blind review process carried out by at least two experienced researchers in the field, supervised by area chairs. * Brief rebuttal at the end of the decision process. * Papers at most 12-page long, LNCS format. SYMPOSIUM SCOPE High-quality contributions from prospective authors are solicited in all aspects of image and video technology including, but not limited to: Image/Video Coding and Transmission Image/video compression, error-resilient video coding, joint source/channel coding, low bit-rate video coding, video streaming over wireless/wired networks, etc. Image/Video Processing and Analysis Super-resolution, image refinement, image segmentation, motion analysis, tracking, stereo and multi-view image processing, multi-view geometry, omni-directional and panoramic image processing, etc. Biometrics and Image Forensics Face, iris, and fingerprint recognition, image security and authentication, watermarking, etc. Imaging and Graphics Hardware and Visualization Multispectral or time-of-flight image or video cameras, omni-directional, panoramic, and multi-view camera design, image-based virtual reality techniques, 3D video generation and editing, 3D visualization hardware and algorithms, etc. Image/Video Retrieval and Scene Understanding Image/video index and retrieval, feature extraction and clustering, object/event detection and recognition, etc. Biomedical Image Processing and Analysis Ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance image/video processing, functional magnetic resonance image analysis, image/video-based computer assisted diagnosis and clinical decision support systems. Computer Vision Applications Human detection and tracking, video surveillance, interaction between graphics and vision, image based human-computer interaction, visual inspections, intelligent transportation systems, SLAM and navigation, etc. CALL FOR WORKSHOPS AND TUTORIALS Proposals for workshops and tutorials are open.
