Special Session on Color Imaging and Applications Call for Papers

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPECIAL SESSION ON COLOR IMAGING AND APPLICATIONS sponsorised by the french color group GFINC held in conjunction with the 6th International Conference on Image and Signal Processing (ICISP), June 30 - July 2, 2014 Cherbourg, Normandy, France http://www.stlo.unicaen.fr/icisp/2014/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Color perception plays an important role in object recognition and scene understanding both for humans and intelligent vision systems. Recent advances in digital color imaging have led to an explosion in a variety of applications including medical imaging, content-based image retrieval, biometrics, watermarking, digital inpainting, remote sensing, visual quality inspection, among many others. As a result, automated processing and analysis of color images has become an active area of research, which is witnessed by the large number of publications during the past two decades. The multivariate nature of color image data presents new challenges for researchers and practitioners as the numerous methods developed for single channel images are often not directly applicable to multichannel images. The joint study of vectorial mathematical models and physical models is then necessary. The goal of this special session is to bring together researchers and practitioners working in the area of Color Imaging and applications. We are soliciting original contributions, which address a wide range of theoretical and practical issues related to the early stages of the color image processing pipeline including, but not limited to: • Color Image and Video Coding and Compression • Color Image and Video Quantization and Halftoning • Color Image and video Filtering and Enhancement • Color Morphology • Color Edge Detection • Color Region Segmentation and Classification • Color Images and videos quality assessment • Color and Saliency models • Color and motion • Color and 3D data • Applications and Future Trends Paper Submission Prospective authors are encourage to sumit papers ot no more than eight (8) pages including results, figures and references. All papers will be handled through the conference website at http://www.stlo.unicaen.fr/icisp/2014 Important dates Paper submission deadline February 8, 2014 Notification of acceptance March 15, 2014 Camera ready submission deadline April 5, 2014 Special session organizers Christophe Charrier GREYC UMR CNRS 6072, Univ.
