3D Computer Vision and Imaging for the 2015 SEM Annual Conference Call for Papers

In the past decade, numerous advances on 3D computer vision and 3D imaging have been achieved in both computer vision and mechanics fields. Nevertheless, the mechanics and computer vision communities nearly have no dialog between them. A very recent example is that MIT's visual microphone can actually be conducted by using an imaging-based mechanics technique in a much simpler (very easy to implement) and much faster (tens of times faster) way. We are currently organizing a special session on 3D Computer Vision and Imaging for the 2015 SEM Annual Conference and Exposition to be held at Costa Mesa, California, June 8-11, 2015. We believe that such a conference session to initiate a dialog between the mechanics and computer vision communities will be very helpful. Because you are a well-known expert on 3D computer vision and the conference location is close to your university, we sincerely invite you to submit one or more papers to the 3D Computer Vision and Imaging session. A 200-word abstract is due on October 1, 2014, and the full paper is due on March 2, 2015. If you plan to submit an abstract, please use "Zhaoyang Wang" as the session organizer and select “Optical Methods” as the paper topic. This can ensure that your paper will be properly organized into the 3D Computer Vision and Imaging session.
