ICCV 2017 Doctoral Consortium
Call for Participation: ICCV 2017 Doctoral Consortium
Overview
The ICCV Doctoral Consortium provides a unique opportunity to students
who are close to finishing, or who have very recently finished, their
doctorate degree, to interact with renowned and experienced
researchers in the field, and discuss with them their ongoing research
and career plans. One senior member of the community is assigned as
mentor to each student participating in the Doctoral Consortium, based
on the student's preference or similarity of research interests. At
the meeting, each student will present a poster either overviewing his
or her thesis research or a single recent paper, which will be
discussed with the mentors and other participants.
Eligibility
All Ph.D. students in computer vision who will graduate within the
next 6 months, as well as those who have graduated in the past 6
months, are eligible. Submission Guidelines
Eligible students who would like to participate in the Doctoral
Consortium should submit an application via CMT at
https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/ICCVDC2017/. The application is
due on 1st August 2017, and should include the following:
1. Expected graduation date.
2. The applicant's CV.
3. Consent to share the CV with companies attending ICCV. (yes/no)
4. A two-page research statement summarizing the applicant's research
and progress to date.
5. The title, author list and short abstract of the poster that the
applicant would like to present at the consortium, which may (or not)
be a work that the applicant is presenting at the conference.
6. A signed note from the advisor providing: a) a confirmation of the
date of graduation of the applicant and b) his/her availability to
become a mentor.
7. First and last name, affiliation and email address of 5 potential
mentors, ranked from most to least preferred. Note that there is no
mentor list provided; applicants should identify researchers from
industry or academia. Do not include the advisor in the list.
Items 2,4,6 should be combined into a single pdf file. The rest will
be part of the submission form. Incomplete applications will be
rejected. Review Process
If all applications cannot be supported, selection will be based on
the above material and the student's graduation date. Institutional
representation will be taken into account.
Travel Awards
Selected students will receive travel reimbursements for part of their
expenses. The amount is still to be determined. Receipts are required
for the reimbursement process. Additional details will be posted.
