PAMI TC Meeting at (Virtual) CVPR 2021

PAMI TC Meeting at (Virtual) CVPR 2021
PAMI TC members and friends,

It's time for another virtual CVPR and with it another virtual TC
meeting. Please join us at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, June 22 for the
live portion of the meeting, which will be conducted via Zoom. Since
that time may not work for everyone given the diversity of timezones
we all live in, all of the information that would be presented at the
meeting is available online through the links below or through the
virtual meeting site. Hopefully, that will let us have more time to
focus on discussion as well.

Most of the information is in the form of a "State of the TC" report:
        * Meeting updates
        * Planning for future CVPRs
        * TC reorganization (mostly renaming)
        * Election for the next TC chair
        * Proposed motions

And here are the summaries of the motions we'll be voting on this year
with links to the full text and more details.

Motion 1: Conference and TC Ombud Positions

The PAMI TC will create formal ombud roles, including two senior ombud
positions and two conference ombud positions for each conference, with
formal processes as described in the linked document.

Motion 2: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives

In order to affirmatively further diversity, equity, and inclusion
(DEI) for all TC-sponsored meetings, CVPR will take the following
steps as detailed in the linked document:

1) All future offerings of CVPR will include diversity and inclusion
chairs as part of their organizing committees.

2) The next three years of CVPR will include tutorials and workshops
related to issues of DEI as they apply to our research community and
related technologies as well as networking events to support
underrepresented communities.

3) The next three years of CVPR will require workshop proposals to
include diversity in their speakers and to include elements that
address related ethical issues (if applicable). Travel and
registration support will be provided by these meetings for students
from underrepresented communities.

It is anticipated that these elements of the next three years'
meetings of CVPR will be revisited and adopted for subsequent
meetings.

Motion 3: Voluntary Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

IEEE/CVF sponsored vision conferences will encourage authors to
voluntarily disclose their potential conflicts of interest in the
camera-ready version. To prevent penalizing authors who do so, such
disclosures will not count against any set page limits; for example,
for papers with an 8-page limit, the COI disclosures can appear on the
ninth page together with the references.

Motion 4: Social-Media Limitation During Review

Social-media promotion of papers is prohibited during the review period for CVPR, except for automatic posting of new preprints by arXiv.

Voting will open shortly after the TC meeting.

Like you, I look forward to another amazing week at CVPR this
year. The conference organizing team has done a tremendous job pulling
this all together under difficult times and deserves a huge round of
virtual applause.

Enjoy CVPR, everyone!
