We are pleased to announce the call for submissions for the
2nd edition of the Doctoral Consortium at the 28th Int Conf on
Pattern Recognition (ICPR 2026), taking place in Lyon, France.
We kindly ask you to share this opportunity with the PhD students
and recent graduates in your research labs.
About the Doctoral Consortium
The Doctoral Consortium is an exclusive, highly interactive
event designed for PhD students who are currently enrolled
at the time of the conference or who have defended their
thesis within the past year. Following a highly successful
first edition, our goal is to help students share their
progress, receive expert mentorship, and network with peers
and senior researchers.
Date: Monday, August 17, 2026 (Opening day of ICPR)
Format: Live, in-person presentations only
Capacity: Limited to 25 selected students to ensure
high-quality communication and guidance.

experienced researchers and receive constructive criticism

ICPR (regardless of acceptance status) are highly encouraged
to participate.
Submission Guidelines
Interested students must submit an application packet
combined into a single ZIP file containing:
File 1 (Main Document): A 4–5 page maximum PDF formatted
using the Springer LNCS template. It must include standard
header details (student and supervisor names, university,
timeline) and cover the problem statement, brief
state-of-the-art, methodology, contributions, and future plans.
File 2 (Recommendation Letter): A short supporting letter
from their PhD advisor confirming the actual or estimated
graduation date.
File 3 (Optional): An accepted paper to ICPR 2026 or its
satellite workshops can be uploaded as supplementary material.
